Quick pulse for Thursday, October 22. Short takes, with credit to where each one came from.

SpaceX reported Q3 on Oct 20. Revenue hit $14.6B, up 161% from a year ago. Net income was $4.4B, against a $1.05B loss in the same quarter last year. Shares rose about 8% after hours, per CNBC.

The headline is the mix. The “Super Intelligence” segment, which rents out compute and sells Grok and Cursor, brought in $7.56B, up from $813M. Starlink’s connectivity business did $5.25B. Launch did $1.77B, up only 6%.

SpaceX quarterly revenue by segment, Q3 2025 vs Q3 2026: Super Intelligence $0.81B to $7.56B, Connectivity $3.10B to $5.25B, Space $1.67B to $1.77B

Profit still comes mostly from Starlink. Connectivity made $2.37B in operating income. The AI segment made $431M, after $1.2B of stock pay tied to the $60B Cursor deal. Compute grew from 1.4 GW to 1.7 GW in one quarter, with Google and Anthropic among the renters.

The spending is the part to watch. Capex was $19.6B in Q3, $16.4B of it on AI compute, and SpaceX guided $35B to $40B for Q4. It also guided Q1 2027 revenue to $33B to $37B, against an analyst average of about $22.2B. Elon Musk said annual recurring revenue could reach $500B to $1T by the end of 2027, and that Tesla and SpaceX have formed special committees to discuss a merger.

Peter Diamandis, a SpaceX investor since 2013, runs the bull math in his newsletter: about $2T today, $10T if revenue reaches $1T at a 10x multiple. Treat that as his case, not a forecast. The checkable numbers are the $63B backlog, about $42B of it due within a year, and whether that capex pays back as fast as management says.

Nvidia sells Europe a factory in a box. China wants chips it can’t get#

At GTC Berlin, Jensen Huang pitched Europe on building its own AI. The product is DSX POD: complete Vera Rubin AI factories built inside modular containers by partners like Bull, Dell, HPE, Lenovo, Schneider Electric and Vertiv. Nvidia says that cuts onsite deployment from about six months to as little as 14 days once power and cooling are ready. Deliveries start in early 2027.

He also pushed agent safety as hardware. The OpenShell Reference Architecture runs agents in an open-source, policy-controlled sandbox, with a BlueField-4 chip called Sentry watching from outside. OpenShell ships now. Sentry is due early next year.

Video: NVIDIA, “NVIDIA GTC Berlin 2026 Keynote With CEO Jensen Huang.” Per Superintelligence, DSX POD comes up around 54:30 and OpenShell around 1:06:50.

Meanwhile, Reuters reports that ByteDance, Alibaba and Tencent ordered more than 3 million RTX PRO 5500 cards at about $11,400 each, over $35B in total. It’s a workstation card, weaker than the H200 or B300, but it clears US export rules and works for inference. Total Chinese orders top 6 million. One source says Nvidia can make no more than 3 million globally in 2027, and partners may get only 5% to 10% of what they asked for. Demand isn’t the bottleneck. Supply and permission are.

Aero goes to seven chains, with Robinhood Chain in its sights#

Aerodrome (Base) and Velodrome (Optimism) merged into one exchange, Aero, at 8 p.m. ET on Oct 21 (03:00 Helsinki today). It launches on Base, Ethereum, OP Mainnet, Arbitrum, Arc, Ink and Robinhood Chain at once. Old AERO converts 1:1. Each VELO becomes about 0.044 AERO, so AERO holders end up with about 94.5% of the new supply, per Milk Road.

The prize is tokenized stocks. When Coinbase launched stock tokens on Base, Aerodrome handled about $1.4B of the roughly $1.5B traded over 30 days. But Robinhood Chain does more stock-token trading than Base, and it out-traded Base on total DEX volume over the past 30 days too ($38.6B vs $30.5B), per Milk Road. Uniswap has owned Robinhood Chain since July. Aero now walks onto its turf, with Coinbase Ventures holding locked AERO.

The token math is the draw and the catch. All trading fees go to staked holders: about $7.85M in the last 30 days and $88M over the year, against a market cap near $800M. But Aerodrome paid out more in emissions than holders earned in fees over the last 30 days. Aero’s fix is “Predictive Allocation,” which lets stakers move rewards toward fee-earning pools in close to real time. Milk Road says to watch two things: how much stock-token flow Aero pulls from Uniswap on Robinhood Chain, and whether fees outrun emissions.

Anthropic’s Claude Duet joins the always-on agent race#

Anthropic opened a research preview of Claude Duet on Oct 21. It’s a separate app (iOS, Android and claude.ai) where Claude works as a proactive agent on Opus 5.5. It sends a morning brief, checks your connected apps every few hours, and keeps working on its own cloud computer with its own browser. It asks before it sends, pays, signs or deletes anything. Trading securities and moving money between accounts are off-limits even with approval. Access is by waitlist, US Pro and Max plans only for now.

Dan Shipper of Every used it daily for two weeks next to Dot, the ChatGPT agent he’d come to rely on. His verdict: the first personal agent he’d call a pro tool, and it moved him to roughly 50/50 between ChatGPT and Claude. The gaps: it can see the Claude sessions on his computers but can’t direct them, its email drafts are worse than Dot’s, and there’s no real voice mode yet.

The race is real. Meta’s Muse hit 10.2 million US downloads in its first 40 days, per Sensor Tower data reported by TechCrunch. Only 11 other apps have done that, and the last one was Threads in July 2023.

Also noted: ARK’s new Tesla model#

ARK Invest’s updated open-source Tesla model, published Oct 19, puts Tesla at about $4,400 a share in 2031. ARK’s table makes that a 62% yearly gain (InvestAnswers cited 64%). The bull and bear cases are about $5,000 and $3,300. Robotaxi is about 80% of the value. Optimus is a real but smaller piece: about $212B of 2031 revenue in the base case, from roughly 1 million robots sold.

Per InvestAnswers, Tesla will likely be part of SPCX, the SpaceX ticker, well before 2031. That fits item 1: the two companies have formed special committees to discuss a merger. ARK’s model treats Tesla as a standalone company, but ARK itself says a merger could happen within five years.
